The hard shell feels way sturdier than the soft carriers I've used, but it's surprisingly light even with my cat inside. Collapsed it down flat in the trunk between trips, which I didn't expect from something this rigid.

Took this on a weekend trip and barely noticed the weight, even with my cat inside. The hard shell held up fine in the trunk and the foam padding kept her from sliding around. Collapses flat in my closet when it's not in use, which is a nice bonus.
